Curb Those Carb Cravings
|
 |
Feel like carbs are the one thing you could never stop eating? Are you full, but french fries always bring back your appetite? Here are some tips on how to curb carb cravings:
-
Make sure you’re eating protein every 3-4 hours. This keeps your blood sugar levels stable. When your levels are not stable, the body naturally craves carbs and sugar for a quick surge of energy – but beware, then your body crashes an hour later, and you’re back to craving carbs.
-
Make yourself drink a glass of water before eating a piece of bread, crackers, or other carbs. By filling your stomach with a liquid, you will be less likely to eat as much carbs at once.
-
Add protein, such as almond butter or hummus, to your carbs. Love pita chips? Dip them in hummus. Can’t get enough triscuits? Add peanut butter or almond butter for a more filling snack.
