How to Choose the Right Yoga Mat

Are you tired of slipping on your mat, or are you on the prowl for a new one? Here are some tips for choosing the right yoga mat:

If you have sweaty palms or are worried about slipping, get a mat with a grippy surface. The heat makes your muscles more flexible.

If you still feel like you are slipping, wipe some paper towel on your mat or scuff your feet on it to break it in.

If you need extra padding because you are either thinner or have sensitive bones, double up with the sticky mats OR buy a thicker mat without the grippy surface.

If you find that youre slipping on sweat, buy a sweat towel to go the full length of your yoga mat.

Finally, if you are taller, be sure to get the longer mats instead of the normal size yoga mats. Usually these arent sold in stores so you will have to find them via Yoga Accessories or in your yoga studio.
