Our feet take a major beating throughout the day – whether we are sitting stationary and getting foot cramps, or if we’re walking and moving all day and our feet just hurt – we need to stretch them out. Here are some stretches:
Broken Toe pose in yoga is a great way to stretch the bottom of the feet. Kneeling upright, tuck your toes under and sit back on your heels. If you can’t sit all the way back, that’s OK. Just slowly lean back and feel a stretch on the bottoms of your feet. Stay here for as many breaths as possible.
Try some ankle rolls: Gently make circles with your feet, over to the right and down and up on the left, and then reverse.
Squeeze your toes and then stretch them out. Similar to making a fist and opening it, scrunch up your toes and then open them and spread them wide. Do this ten times throughout the day to increase circulation and keep your toes from getting cramped up.
