The most common New Year's Resolution is to lose weight, get in shape, and be more healthy. Do you ever notice how the gym is packed in January, and then progressively gets slower come February and March? Here's how to not break your New Year's Resolution, and how to be in the less than 25% of people who keep their New Year's Resolutions:
Set Realistic Goals
If you haven't worked out in a month, don't set a goal of working out 7 days per week. It's not realistic and you will automatically be setting yourself up for failure! Gradually ease back in to working out and make it a commitment and enjoyable part of your life before you go from 0 to 700%.
Measure Your Progression Towards Your Goal
Set up a system to track your progress. If can be a chart to check off the days you eat healthy, or more specifically, a chart with a list of 5 vegetables that you're going to eat per day. Or it can be a calendar tracking how many days per week you are working out.
Have a Support Group and Success Team
Find someone or a group of people to share your success with! Success breeds success, so the more you talk about your accomplishments and feel supported in them, the more you will continue to work towards them.
