Using Props To Support Your Yoga Practice
|
 |
Yoga props, such as blocks and straps, can greatly improve and change your poses. Here’s a few ways you can incorporate a block or strap into your next practice:
-
Use a block for Extended Side Angle or Triangle pose. Place the block underneath your arm that’s reaching towards the ground. Use the block to decrease the distance your hand has to reach, and open up your torso more easily.
-
In Bridge Pose, place a block between your inner thighs and squeeze the block. This will ensure that you keep your feet as wide as your hips.
-
In a seated forward fold, use a strap around the bottom of your feet to help gently pull yourself further into the fold.
-
In a standing forward fold, stand on the strap and pull yourself further forward, dropping your chin towards your chest and forehead closer to your shins.
