Strong initial chemical smell, sheds like crazy, but is soft after washing
My grey blanket outgassed a weird chemical smell for awhile; even after washing. After a week or so, the smell has dissipated somewhat. The blanket is soft, and not bad quality for what you pay.

How to deal with shedding
This is a nice blanket. It is relatively itchy, if you're sensitive to wool, but it's ok as long as you have a different blanket to use over the top of it. It does shed rather a lot, but it helps tremendously if you spin it a number of times on the "air-fluff" (no-heat) cycle in your dryer. Check and empty your lint trap very often. I washed it and then spun it maybe six or eight times, for 30-45 minutes each time, and it has mostly stopped shedding on my clothes when I practice.

Yoga student
This blanket coated my washer and dryer with fibers and large lint when I washed it. It seems softer now that it is washed. I am concerned about the shedding, especially since I some how ordered maroon (which has a lot of red dye) instead of gray.

Great Blanket
This blanket is just a really great blanket. It is great during yoga class and it is great at home.

Super Strong
Some wool blankets fall apart after a couple of uses, but not this one! I can see it lasting for years and years after being used almost every single day.
