Many of us use yoga blocks when we can’t reach the ground in a pose, but how about using the block while in Mountain Pose! Here are some suggestions:
- Use the instructor as a guide, not as your drill sergeant. Make sure that you listen to your body first, and just follow the instructor as a facilitator.
- If something hurts, don’t do it, even if everyone around you is. Own your practice as your own, and stick to it.
- If you start becoming frustrated with yourself, ask yourself what it’s really about. Are you really that upset because you’re losing your balance in tree pose, or are you frustrated with other things that have happened throughout the day?
